Formula Adoption

Once a formula is shared with other projects, the project(s) it was shared with must adopt the formula in order to use it in any execution plans.

  1. Navigate to Abacus within the project you've shared the formula within the previous steps.
  2. Click on "Create Formula" under the formula type of the formula that has been shared.
  3. On the left side of the screen you should see the formula name with a  Symbol next to it.
  4. To Adopt the formula click on the  symbol to the right of the formula name
  5. You're done! You can now use this formula with this project.

Info

In order to discard a shared formula from a project it is shared with it must be deleted within said project.

A shared formula can only be removed if it is adopted or in use by a single project.

Info
titleRequired Fields

If a project does not have the fields needed to enable a shared formula, Abacus will alert you of this issue with a notification when you attempt to adopt the formula. This notification will also include the field(s) missing that need to be added to the create screen within the project. Once the appropriate field(s) has been added to a "create" screen within the project the option to adopt the formula will reappear.
