How to Move Assets from Jira Assets to Checkout

How to Move Assets from Jira Assets to Checkout

Prerequisites:

  • Jira Assets ↔︎ Checkout integration enabled

  • Project administrator permissions

  • An object type created within Jira Assets

First, within your Jira Service Management project, navigate to Project Settings → Checkout → Asset Types.

From here, select the three-dot ellipses in the upper right-hand corner next to the Add Asset Type button.

Select the Import option

Make the selection to import from Jira Assets, and then select the object type that you wish to pull into the Checkout asset inventory. Note that Object Type in Jira Assets is synonymous to an Asset Type in Checkout.

By default Checkout will create new attributes in Jira Assets for the object type that you select, but you can choose to map these Checkout attributes to attributes that already exist within the object type configuration for your Jira Assets if you don’t want any new ones to be created:

Once you’ve made your attribute configurations, select the Create Asset Type button. Your object type from Jira Assets will be created as a new asset type within the Checkout asset inventory.

Now you can access and modify your Jira Assets of this object type directly from the Checkout asset inventory (Project sidebar → Checkout → Assets).
