Storing Vendors in Jira Assets
This guide will walk you through the process of storing vendors in Jira Assets for your Checkout project.
This process will also copy any existing vendors in your Checkout project to Jira Assets. This will allow them to be synced between the two applications.
Prerequisites
Jira Service Management - Premium / Enterprise Edition
An Object Schema and Object Type created in Jira Assets to hold your vendor(s)
Project Admin access
To begin the process of storing vendors in Jira Assets for your Checkout project, navigate to Project Settings → Checkout → Integrations.
Enable the Jira Assets integration. If it is already enabled, select the three-dot ellipses next to the toggle icon, and select Configure.
A pop-up dialog will appear. Select the Enable button in the Vendors display box.
The dialog will refresh, prompting you to select an Object Schema and Object Type from Jira Assets to store your vendors in.
By default, a new attribute in Jira Assets for your specified vendor object type will be created for each vendor attribute in Checkout.
If you don’t have an object type created for your vendors yet, you can do so inline within the Object Type dropdown by selecting ‘Create New Vendors Type'.
Upon selecting ‘Save’, a new dialog will appear showing the progress of the vendor migration.
Once the process is complete, if you navigate to your Object Schema you’ll find your pre-existing Checkout vendors under the specified Object Type:
Note that these same vendors are still able to be referenced within your Checkout project:
At this point, each of these vendors are synced between the two platforms (Checkout and Jira Assets).
If a vendor is created under the designated Jira Assets Object Type, the same vendor will be created in the Checkout Vendors section, and vice-versa.
If a vendor is modified in Jira Assets, the same modification will be made to that vendor in the Checkout Vendors section, and vice-versa.
